RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND CONSUMER SERVICES PURCHASE OF DEVELOPMENT RIGHTS (PDR) MATCHING FUNDS INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WHEREAS, on February 19, 2002, the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors adopted the Purchase of Development Rights (PDR) Program to acquire conservation easements for the purpose of protecting agriculture, providing open space, and ameliorating the impact of development on the County; and WHEREAS, a total of 6,205 acres have been approved by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors in the PDR Program to date; and WHEREAS, on May 31, 2007, Fauquier County certified local PDR Matching Funds in the amount of $3,998,331 to the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services; and WHEREAS, on August 13, 2007, Fauquier County submitted an Application for Certification of local PDR Program FY 2008; and WHEREAS, on February 26, 2008, Fauquier County was awarded $403,219 in State PDR Matching Funds; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 13th day of March 2008, That the County Administrator be, and is hereby, authorized to execute the State PDR Matching Funds Intergovernmental Agreement.
