Creation of a Full-Time GIS Technician for E911 Addressing
Within the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Office |

Topic Description: |
|
A recommendation has been
made by County Administration to improve current street
addressing processes by the creation of a GIS Technician
position to become effective within Fiscal Year 2004.
Problems with the current process of street address
assignments and the public safety issues involved were
identified by the GIS Office, Department of Fire and
Emergency Services, and County Administration. The addition
of this position will provide for significant process
improvement. The Personnel Committee, the Finance
Committee, and the Public Safety Committee reviewed and
endorsed this request at their February meetings. |

Consider adoption of the attached
resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis: |
|
The financial impact for
FY04 will be in the amount of $13,647 from the contingency
reserve. Beginning in FY05, the financing method for the
requested position will be through land development fee
revenues. |
