PROCLAMATION

 

A PROCLAMATION TO COMMEND MITCHEL COFFEY FOR HIS DEDICATION AND SERVICE TO THE FAUQUIER COUNTY ARMORY ADVISORY BOARD

 

            WHEREAS, on March 5, 1991, the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution to reconstitute the Armory Advisory Board; and

 

            WHEREAS, the Armory Advisory Board was charged with developing plans and policies for restoring the Armory to a revenue producing operation while providing needed community services; and

 

            WHEREAS, on August 6, 1991, the Armory Advisory Board presented to the Board of Supervisors their goals and objectives for the Armory to include, but not be limited to: designing and implementing a multi-year marketing program aimed at creating awareness and eliciting interest in the Armory as a meaningful community facility; instituting appropriate policies and procedures to generate revenues to offset Armory expenditures; and guiding the Armory to be a self-sufficient facility; and

 

            WHEREAS, during Mitchel Coffey’s tenure on the Armory Advisory Board, he was actively involved in making improvements possible, such as, installing air conditioning in the Drill Room, adding parking facilities, creating handicapped access, landscaping of the outside facility, and undertaking general renovations to the entire facility; and

 

            WHEREAS, while Mitchel Coffey served on the Armory Advisory Board, the financial stability of the Armory greatly improved to the extent that the Armory maintained a positive cash balance despite the negative impact of rental restrictions imposed by the State; now, therefore, be it

 

            PROCLAIMED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 15th day of March 2004, That Mitchel Coffey be, and is hereby, commended for his outstanding dedication and involvement with the Armory Advisory Board on behalf of the citizens of Fauquier County; and, be it

 

PROCLAIMED FURTHER, That the Board of Supervisors does hereby extend best wishes to Mitchel Coffey in all future endeavors.
