PROCLAMATION

A PROCLAMATION TO ENLIST ALL RESIDENTS TO SUPPORT THE COUNTY-WIDE CLEAN-UP APRIL 22, 2002 THROUGH MAY 1, 2002

            WHEREAS, a number of citizens have commented about the problems of litter and trash along our roadways; and

            WHEREAS, residents desire an environment that is clean and well maintained and research has shown that clean roadsides curb the tendency to litter; and

            WHEREAS, a number of community groups participate in the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Adopt-a-Highway program and other voluntary efforts to beautify our community; and

            WHEREAS, the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors encourages all residents to get involved and help improve our community; now, therefore, be it

            PROCLAIMED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 18^th day of March 2002, That April 22, 2002 through May 1, 2002 shall be designated as time for voluntary and coordinated citizen action to remove litter and trash from our landscape.
