Topic:  A Resolution to Revise and Abolish Selected Fauquier County Government Human Resources Policies

Topic Description:

The Fauquier County Government Human Resources Policies Manual is being reviewed in its entirety for necessary updates and revisions.  Part of this review entails grouping related policies to eliminate duplication and provide a logical sequencing and retrieval of information.  To this end, the following policies have been revised: 

Policy 11 – Hiring

Policy 38 – Physical Examinations

Position 23 – Position Classification Plan

Policy 46 – Sexual Harassment.

The following policies are recommended for abolishment: 

Policy 6 – General Provisions of Personnel Policy

Policy 7 - Responsibility

Policy 12 – Reference and Investigation

Policy 27 – Promotions, Demotions, and Transfers.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the proposed resolution to revise and abolish the aforementioned policies.
