WHEREAS, the American Bird Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) organization owning personal property in Fauquier County; and WHEREAS, the American Bird Conservancy has requested an exemption from real and personal property taxation in order to permit it to be better able to use its financial resources for charitable purposes; and WHEREAS, prior to granting a charitable organization an exemption from property tax the Board of Supervisors must conduct a public hearing and adopt an ordinance granting the exemption; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 8th day of April 2010, That the County Administrator be, and is herby, directed to schedule a public hearing to consider the request of the American Bird Conservancy for a personal property tax exemption.
