Michael O’Beirne, Project
Coordinator for the Mid-Atlantic Global Trade Consortium,
and Anita Kaiser, Director, Washington Airports Task Force,
will make a presentation to the Board of Supervisors
regarding establishing a Foreign Trade Zone status for
Fauquier County.
Beights Corporation requests
a Letter of Interest (LOI) from the Fauquier County Board of
Supervisors in support of U.S. Department of Commerce,
Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) status for the 17/66 Business Park
in Marshall and the Mill Run Business Park in New Baltimore.
The two business parks are owned and operated by Beights
Corporation.
Should designation be
granted, the two business parks will become part of a
General Purpose Zone, Foreign Trade Zone No. 137, Washington
Dulles International Airport. The letter of support will be
submitted to Mr. Andrew McGilvray, Executive Director of the
Foreign Trade Zone Board.
The Letter of Support does
not guarrantee approval of the FTZ status. It is, however,
necessary for the formal application process to be initiated
for designation. A Letter of Support is attached for Board
consideration.
