RESOLUTION

A Resolution to Adopt CPAM10-MA-001 A Comprehensive Plan Amendment to the Warrenton Service District Plan for the Reintroduction of the Route 211 Route 17 Connector Corridor Reservation

WHEREAS, on July 9, 2009, the Board of Supervisors initiated the amendment process for the Route 211- Route 17 Connector and directed the Planning Commission to review and refine the draft Amendment to the Warrenton Service District Plan, submitted as part of the Route 211 Route 17 Connector Corridor Technical Planning Study, consider recommendations from the Transportation Committee, conduct public hearing(s), and provide final recommendations to the Board of Supervisors; and

WHEREAS, the Planning Commission conducted work sessions on August 27 and September 24, 2009 for briefings regarding the Warrenton Broadview Avenue Access Management Study (Prepared by HNTB for VDOT and the Town of Warrenton), other technical studies and the draft plan amendment; and

WHEREAS, the Planning Commission conducted an advertised Community meeting on November 2, 2009 at Fauquier High School to present the draft amendment and receive citizen comments; and

WHEREAS, the Planning Commission conducted the public hearing for the proposed Warrenton Service District Plan Amendment (CPA10-MA-001) on January 28, 2010; and

WHEREAS, at its regular meeting on February 25, 2010, the Planning Commission made final revisions and forwarded the proposed amendment to the Board of Supervisors recommending approval; and

WHEREAS, the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors held the public hearing on this amendment and considered oral and written testimony; and

WHEREAS, adoption of the attached amendment supports and enhances the overall goals of the Warrenton Service District Plan and supports good planning practice, convenience and the general welfare; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 8th day of April 2010, That it adopts CPAM10-MA-001 A Comprehensive Plan Amendment to the Warrenton Service District Plan concerning the Route 211 Route 17 Connector Reservation Area as reflected and attached to the accompanying staff report.
