Topic:

A Resolution Authorizing the County Administrator to Execute a Contract with the Fauquier Hospital to Implement and Participate in a Pay Per Use Supply Replenishment Agreement

Topic Description:

On August 27, 2007, Fauquier County began Ambulance Revenue Recovery by billing insurance companies for EMS Transports. Federal Law requires that the cost of the supplies and medications used in these services be included in the allowable “Billing Charges” and not itemized separately. Fauquier Hospital will accordingly invoice the County for such supplies. The Department of Fire & Emergency Services will coordinate the invoicing, tracking of expenses and payments to Fauquier Hospital.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

The impacts are consistent with the ambulance revenue recovery agreement which was approved by a Board of Supervisors resolution in May 2007. Funding is being provided by the ambulance revenue recovery program.
