A Resolution Authorizing a Memorandum of Agreement Between the Board of Supervisors and Lone Oak Recreation Association

Topic Description:

Parks and Recreation offers swimming lessons each summer at the County owned pool at Vint Hill for citizens in the Eastern region of the County. The Department also offers swimming lessons at Aspen South LLC pool in Bealeton for citizens in Southern Fauquier County under a Memorandum of Agreement approved by the Board of Supervisors at their June 8, 2006 meeting.  The Department goal is to offer swimming lessons in all Parks and Recreation regions.  To accomplish this goal the Department wishes to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement between Fauquier County and Lone Oak Recreation Association to use the Lone Oak pool to offer swimming lessons to citizens in the Northern region of the County.  Under this Memorandum of Agreement the Department can provide a valuable service to the residents at reasonable cost.  Lone Oak Recreation Association has agreed to this Memorandum of Agreement.  The Agreement included an auto renewal clause.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

No financial impact is anticipated as swimming lesson fees cover the cost of the program.
