RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION TO AWARD A BID FOR A MICROWAVE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM: VIEW TREE – VINT HILL WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors has authorized improvements to the Public Safety Radio system to improve public safety radio coverage in the New Baltimore-Vint Hill area; and WHEREAS, a number of steps have been taken to add a simulcast transmission site at Vint Hill; and WHEREAS, one component of the new site is to provide a microwave link between Vint Hill and the central View Tree site; and WHEREAS, a bid alternative will provide the backbone of microwave equipment that can be used by the County for data links with other County departments in the future; and WHEREAS, as request for proposals was issued and three proposals evaluated; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 10th day of April 2008, That the Fauquier County Administrator be, and is hereby, authorized to enter into a contract with ALCATEL in the amount of $ 240,414 for the purchase and installation of microwave equipment. |
