Topic: 

A Resolution Authorizing the County Administrator to Execute an Agreement for Fee for Service with the Thirteen Fire and Rescue Companies, the Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association, and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services

Topic Description:

Due to the critical need for 24-hour advanced life support services, the Board of Supervisors has encouraged the Volunteer Fire and Rescue and DFES to pursue fee for service ambulance billing.  After five mediated group sessions, the parties have arrived at a consensus to execute the attached agreement.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

Implementation of ambulance billing is anticipated to yield from $750,000 to $1,100,000 per year in revenue.
