Topic: 

A Resolution to Authorize the Execution of Reimbursement Agreements for Repayment of Funds to the Commonwealth of Virginia Related to the Change of Use of Units in Hangar #2 at the Warrenton-Fauquier Airport

Topic Description:

Fauquier County was notified by the Virginia Department of Aviation of a policy that requires the use of T-hangars partially funded with State funds to exclude aircraft maintenance services. The policy revised the previous practice of the department.  In conjunction with the Airport Committee, two maintenance businesses had previously been authorized to operate maintenance businesses in Unit #20 and Unit #37 in Hangar #2 at the Airport, subject to completing Code required building improvements. The County has reached agreements with the two businesses to repay the funds to the State and to accept reimbursement from the two entities beginning April 2007 and extending for a period of five (5) years.  

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

Payment to the State of approximately $45,000 is planned in July 2007. The reimbursement from the two businesses will be made over a five year period commencing April 2007. Funds will be advanced and repaid in the Airport Enterprise fund.
