A Resolution Directing the County Administrator to Schedule a Public Hearing to Consider Relocating the Catlett Precinct Polling Place to H.M. Pearson Elementary School

Topic Description:

The Catlett Precinct polling place is currently located at the Catlett Fire Hall.  The Fire Hall is scheduled to be demolished prior to the June 2006 primary elections.  In order to accommodate this anticipated demolition, the Registrar has received permission from the School Division to relocate the polling place to H.M. Pearson Elementary School.  In addition, he has obtained emergency approval from the State Board of Elections to relocate the polling place, and the Department of Justice has been asked to approve the change.  The proposed Ordinance would amend the County Code to reflect the changed polling place.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.
