Topic: 

A Resolution to Approve Amended By-Laws of the Fauquier County Airport Committee

Topic Description:

The Airport Committee has completed a review of its By-Laws. At a meeting held on March 28, 2005, the Committee approved the changes shown in the attached documents.  The primary change pertains to the membership of the Committee.  Now that the major improvement plans at the Airport are in the final stages of construction, it is recommended that the Committee be reduced in size from eleven (11) members to eight (8) members.  At the suggestion of the Board of Supervisors Chairman Graham, it is proposed that the two members of the Board of Supervisors and the member of the Warrenton Town Council be dropped from the Committee membership.  The proposed changes also establish a requirement of four (4) members to be present to constitute a quorum, and make provision for seeking the resignation of members who do not attend at least 50% of the meetings conducted in a calendar year.

The proposed changes to the By-Laws have been reviewed by the County Attorney.

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.
