PROCLAMATION

A PROCLAMATION TO HONOR GEORGE ROBINSON UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS 100^TH BIRTHDAY

            WHEREAS, George Robinson was born on February 12, 1905, in Nokesville, Virginia; and

            WHEREAS, Mr. Robinson then moved to the Catlett-Calverton area, where he survived a cyclone on May 2, 1929; and

            WHEREAS, in 1930, Mr. Robinson moved to the Village of Sumerduck, Virginia, where he lived for 72 years before moving in with his daughter, Lorrine Ludwick, in December 2002; and

            WHEREAS, Mr. Robinson worked as a sawyer at sawmills throughout the area, and helped harvest timber on tracts of land in Fauquier, Stafford and King George Counties, and surrounding areas; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Robinson was married to his late wife, Lillian Robinson, for over 50 years, during which time they were blessed with six children, 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; and

            WHEREAS, in 2003, Mr. Robinson moved to the Autumn Health Care Center in Madison, Virginia, where he celebrated his 100^th birthday surrounded by family and friends; now, therefore, be it

            PROCLAIMED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 14^th day of April 2005, That the Board of Supervisors hereby urges all citizens to join in congratulating George Robinson upon the occasion of his 100^th birthday and for his lifetime of achievements.
