PROCLAMATION
A PROCLAMATION TO HONOR GEORGE ROBINSON UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS 100TH BIRTHDAY
WHEREAS, George Robinson was born on February 12, 1905, in Nokesville, Virginia; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Robinson then moved to the Catlett-Calverton area, where he survived a cyclone on May 2, 1929; and
WHEREAS, in 1930, Mr. Robinson moved to the Village of Sumerduck, Virginia, where he lived for 72 years before moving in with his daughter, Lorrine Ludwick, in December 2002; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Robinson worked as a sawyer at sawmills throughout the area, and helped harvest timber on tracts of land in Fauquier, Stafford and King George Counties, and surrounding areas; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Robinson was married to his late wife, Lillian Robinson, for over 50 years, during which time they were blessed with six children, 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, in 2003, Mr. Robinson moved to the Autumn Health Care Center in Madison, Virginia, where he celebrated his 100th birthday surrounded by family and friends; now, therefore, be it
PROCLAIMED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 14th day of April 2005, That the Board of Supervisors hereby urges all citizens to join in congratulating George Robinson upon the occasion of his 100th birthday and for his lifetime of achievements.
