Topic Description:

The proposed text amendment would amend Section 3-309, Subsections 14 through 16, to allow spectator and non-spectator field events and activities (Classes A, B, and C) in Conservation Districts by special exception.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors:

Conduct a public hearing and consider adoption of the attached Ordinance.

Financial Impact Analysis:

No financial impact analysis has been conducted.

Summary Staff Report:

Field events are allowed in RA, C-2, C-3, and I-2 Districts by special exception.  The proposed text amendment would extend such uses in Conservation Districts, subject to Board of Supervisor approval through the issuance of a special exception. On January 29, 2005, the Planning Commission initiated the text amendment and scheduled the public hearing on February 17, 2005. After the public hearing, the Planning Commission unanimously voted to recommend adoption of the proposed text amendment.
