Ad Hoc Committee of the Board of Supervisors to Advise the
Board on Matters Relating to Human Rights |

Topic Description: |
|
The proposed resolution
establishes an Ad Hoc Committee of the Board of Supervisors
on human rights. The Committee will consist of nine (9)
members who will be residents of the County and broadly
representative of the racial, sexual, religious, ethnic, age
and disability groups in the County. The Committee and its
Chairman will be appointed in accordance with the
appointment process set forth in the Bylaws of the Board of
Supervisors. The Committee will act as a clearinghouse for
information on human rights, as conduit for the citizens of
the County to the Commonwealth's Council on Human Rights
with its enforcement and regulatory authority, and will also
be charged with the duty and responsibility of recommending
to the Board of Supervisors human rights issues affecting
Fauquier County and worthy of study. |
