A RESOLUTION TO INITIATE CONSIDERATION OF A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT TO ADD PROPERTY TO THE MARSHALL MIXED USE PLAN AREA
WHEREAS, the Marshall Service District Committee has made recommendations regarding the entranceway to the unincorporated Town of Marshall; and
WHEREAS, these recommendations have been communicated to the Fauquier County Planning Commission and Fauquier County Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, the Committee has recommended that the gateway to Marshall should be planned as a walkable mixed use community with appropriate commercial and residential development including residential units above commercial storefronts; and
WHEREAS, the plans for the district have progressed sufficiently to incorporate additional Mixed Use property within the Marshall Service District Plan; and
WHEREAS, the public necessity, convenience, general welfare and good zoning practice warrant the amendment of the Comprehensive Plan to reflect the re-designation of certain property located in the Gateway northeast of Route 17 and south of the Norfolk-Southern rail line also described as parcels #6969-97-2278, 6969-98-4109 and 6969-98-5472 owned by Goose Pond Grove, Ltd, Parcel # 6969-97-0217 owned by Ali Moshari, property of Marshall Shopping Center LLC Parcels # 6969-88-9632 and 6969-98-1750, and property of 17/66 LLC parcel # 6969-87-8431, each currently designated as Low Density Residential (1-3 units per acre), to Mixed Use; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 8th day of May 2008, That consideration of an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan to designate the above-described properties as Mixed Use within the Comprehensive Plan be, and is hereby, initiated.
