A RESOLUTION TO INITIATE CONSIDERATION OF A ZONING MAP AMENDMENT TO RESIDENTIALLY ZONED PROPERTY IN THE MARSHALL GATEWAY
WHEREAS, the Marshall Service District Committee has made recommendations regarding the entranceway to the unincorporated Town of Marshall; and
WHEREAS these recommendations have been communicated to the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, the Committee has recommended that the gateway to Marshall should be planned as a walkable mixed use community with appropriate commercial and residential development including residential units above commercial storefronts; and
WHEREAS, the plans for the district have progressed sufficiently to permit the rezoning of residentially zoned property within the Marshall Gateway Mixed Use Corridor in order to afford the proper implementation of the district; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors has evaluated the property within the Gateway area and determined that it is appropriate to rezone property within the area to either to the Commercial Village zoning district or to a newly created Zoning District which is to be named the Marshall Gateway Special District; and
WHEREAS, the public necessity, convenience, general welfare and good zoning practice warrant the amendment of the Zoning Map to rezone the property of Goose Pond Grove, Ltd. also referred to as PIN #ís 6969-97-2278, 6969-98-4109 and 6969-98-5472 less and except that portion of PIN #6969-98-4109 currently zoned C-2, and property owned by Ali Moshari also referred to as PIN # #6969-97-0217 either to the Marshall Gateway Special District initiated even date herewith or to Commercial Village; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 8th day of May 2008, That consideration of an amendment to the Zoning Map as set forth in this resolution be, and is hereby, initiated and referred to the Fauquier County Planning Commission for its recommendation.
