The Vint Hill Economic Development Authority (VHEDA) is
currently working on the design and implementation of a
regional pond that will manage the stormwater for the land
within Land Bays K, X, B and A, a considerable amount of
acreage north of Vint Hill Parkway. In order to support the
Phase 1 construction of Land Bay K, a temporary stormwater
management (SWM) pond was approved and constructed, with
consideration given to some reduced construction standards
as the understanding was that the regional pond would be
constructed to serve Phase 2 construction in that land bay.
The VHEDA is seeking approval of a construction plan to
expand the temporary SWM pond to serve additional acreage in
Phase 2, until such time as the regional SWM pond can be
brought on-line.
VHEDA is pursuing expansion of the temporary stormwater
management facility as an interim condition to allow them to
develop an additional 15 acres of commercial property at
this time. The regional stormwater pond is currently
projected in the VHEDA’s business plan for completion in
Fall 2010, subject to market conditions, at a cost in excess
of $1 million.
