RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF VINT HILL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY’S EXPANSION OF AN INTERIM STORMWATER FACILITY

WHEREAS, Vint Hill desires to include regional stormwater management ponds to facilitate and support the expedient and efficient redevelopment of Vint Hill, consistent with the expressed reservation in the approved zoning proffers of the right to construct such facilities; and

WHEREAS, Phase 1 of Land Bay K was originally approved with a temporary stormwater management pond and consideration was given in regard to some of the Virginia Stormwater Management Handbook construction standards, with the understanding that the facility would be temporary and Phase 2 of Land Bay K would use a new regional pond; and

WHEREAS, the Vint Hill Economic Development Authority would like to expeditiously bring an additional 15 acres of commercial lots to market within the Phase 2 portion of Land Bay K, while working towards the financial and physical ability to construct the larger regional facility, otherwise known as Pond #8; and

WHEREAS, the Vint Hill Economic Development Authority has initiated its commitment to the development of the regional facility by obtaining the necessary special exception and conducting the floodplain study for the location of the pond to support the development of Land Bays K, X, B and A, located north of Vint Hill Parkway; and has initiated the FEMA Conditional Letter of Map Amendment process, final design of the facility, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers process for impacts to waters of the U.S./wetlands; and

WHEREAS, it will likely take several additional years to complete the approval process and undertake construction of the regional facility; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 8th day of May 2008, That it supports the Vint Hill Economic Development Authority in the expansion of the Land Bay K interim stormwater management pond to handle additional commercial development within Phase 2 until such time as the permanent, larger regional stormwater management facility #8 is approved, permitted and constructed.
