A Resolution Authorizing the
County Administrator to Execute on Behalf of Fauquier County
a Grant Application to the Virginia Department of Fire
Programs
|
|
Topic Description: |
|
The Fire Rescue Training
Division has a long standing reputation across the State for
providing extensive amounts of fire and emergency medical
service training, especially to Fauquier County's high
school programs. For the past six years the County's
structural fire training has been limited by the lack of
availability to a fire training building as the old
one-level building has been condemned. The change in
construction and types of buildings more than ever demands a
better facility to be able to prepare firefighters to safely
function in these buildings during actual fires. Having
identified a site for a new fire training building, the
County can now apply for funding from the Virginia
Department of Fire Programs to assist in constructing this
building. The grant application requires authorization from
the Board of Supervisors and a designated grant agent. |
