A Resolution to Direct a Reduction-in-Force and Authorize Severance Packages

Topic Description:

The Board of Supervisors adopted the FY 2010 Budget on March 31, 2009.  The Board of Supervisors authorizes the County Administrator to implement a reduction-in-force plan and to direct a severance package for the impacted employee that would provide salary and health coverage for a period not to exceed three months depending upon the length of service. 


Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors:


Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

The proposed reduction in force is necessary to implement the FY 2010 adopted budget, and would impact one employee in the Sheriff’s Office.  $73,085 was eliminated from the Sheriff’s Office with the elimination of the Assistant Director position in the Joint Communications Center.
