Topic:               

A Resolution to Authorize Approval of a Severance Package for the Position of Construction Assistant

Topic Description:

The Fauquier County FY 2005 budget eliminated the Construction Assistant position and one Construction Project Manager position within the Construction Management Division of the Department of General Services.  Accordingly per Human Resources Policy 26, Reduction in Force, upon a reduction in force directive severance packages shall be developed and approved by the Board of Supervisors.  Due to employee attrition within the Construction Project Manager position classification, the proposed severance package relates to the Construction Assistant position classification only. 

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors:

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Fiscal Impact Analysis:

The following severance package is proposed:

one month of compensation                                           $  2,184.82

three months of extended health insurance                     $  1,353.00                                         

$  3,537.82.
