On October 18, 1991,
Fauquier County entered into an Agreement by and between the
Town of Warrenton, The Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office, and
the Fauquier Fire and Rescue Association to establish a
Joint Communications Center. This Center became operational
on July 1, 1994.
As the terms of this
Agreement have not been formally adhered to and are somewhat
obsolete, this resolution authorizes the County
Administrator to take the necessary actions to dissolve the
Agreement. The Joint Communications Center will continue to
provide dispatch services to both Fauquier County and the
Town of Warrenton.
The terms of the Agreement
provide that it is subject to dissolution upon the mutual
agreement of the Warrenton Town Council and the Fauquier
County Board of Supervisors. Either party may discontinue
its participation at the end of any fiscal year, subject to
one year’s written notice to the other party.
