A Resolution to Authorize
Funding for Fauquier County to Participate in the Regional
Elder Care Planning Grant |
|
Topic Description: |
|
The Rappahannock-Rapidan
Elder Care Coalition, representing 26 organizations from our
region, is competing for a foundation grant to undertake a
planning effort to address the needs of frail and at-risk
elders and their families. The focus of the planning
activity will be to assess the needs of our aging population
with a focus on in-house and community based services and to
deal with issues of long-term services and support needs to
enable the elderly to maintain their independence.
The planning phase is
expected to take place over an 18-month period.

|
Requested Action of the
Board of Supervisors:
|
|
Consider adoption of the
attached resolution. |
|
Financial Impacts Analysis: |
|
In order to strengthen the
competitive application for Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
funding, participants have been asked to provide some local
cash for matching purposes. The County Administrator has
indicated, subject to Board action, that the County will
provide $2,000 as a cash match. It is suggested that these
funds be earmarked from the Contingency Reserve Account.
