Lord Fairfax Community College Construction Funding FY 2003 - FY 2008

Topic Description:

Lord Fairfax Community College has developed a plan of construction over the next seven years. This includes projects at the Middletown and Warrenton campuses. Funding for these projects is projected to be a combination of State and prorata local support. The counties of Clarke, Fauquier, Frederick, Page, Rappahannock, Shenandoah, Warren and the City of Winchester would provide the local support, based on school wide student enrollment. The proposed schedule of funding is attached. Also attached is a synopsis of the projects planned for construction. Assuming the projects will be built as scheduled, the State will fund its share of the projects and the other jurisdictions will fund their prorata amount.  Fauquier County would fund $1,035,000 over five years and the Warrenton campus would receive two construction projects totaling $10,625,000.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Convene a worksession to allow the Lord Fairfax Community College staff to provide the Board of Supervisors the background on this construction issue.  

Financial Impacts Analysis:

As reflected on the attached. The initial funding request of $125,000 is for the the current fiscal year.
