Text Amendment to Sections 1-200.14, 1-200.15, 4-301.1, 4-501, 5-010.1, 5-010.2, 5-1703 GG (1), 5-1703 GG (2), 8-1200, 8-1700, 12-601, 12-612.6, 13-202.1.A, 13-202.2.D, 13-205, 13-301, 14-102, 14-202, 14-210; Article 15 and Appendix B-III A of the Zoning Ordinance


Topic Description:  The above-mentioned sections and articles of the Fauquier County Zoning Ordinance contain mention of Title 15.1 of the Code of Virginia.  The General Assembly repealed Title 15.1 and reenacted this portion of the Code as Title 15.2, but citations of Title 15.1 still exist in the current Zoning Ordinance.  These proposed text amendments would replace the incorrect Title 15.1 with Title 15.2 and add the corrected sub references.  For example, the procedure for advertisement of a public was listed under 15.1-431 but now is found under 15.2-2204, so some section numbers have changed as well in the Code of Virginia.  

These text amendments will have no effect on any of the listed Zoning Ordinance citations.  The lone effect will be amendment to include the correct Title and sub reference numbers as found in the current edition of the Code of Virginia.  

The Fauquier County Planning Commission held a public hearing on April 24, 2003 , and voted to forward these text amendments with a recommendation for approval.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Hold a public hearing and consider adoption of the attached Ordinance.
