Topic:     A Resolution to Award a Contract for Design and Construction Services for

                        Courthouse Improvements

Topic Description:

The final major phase of the County space planning process entails improvements to the Courthouse to provide improved space for the Circuit Court, Clerk of Court, Treasurer, Commissioner of the Revenue, Community Development and Commonwealth’s Attorney offices.  The County has solicited proposals from architects and has selected the firm of Moseley Architects for this phase of the work.  The work is expected to lead to the preparation of bid documents and specifications and the award of a construction contract by December 2003.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors:

Consider adoption of attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

Funds have been previously appropriated for this work.  The contract to Moseley Architects is for $155,900.
