PROCLAMATION

A Proclamation to Recognize the Efforts of the

Capital Improvements Program Committee

            WHEREAS, the Capital Fund, including the Capital Improvements Program (CIP) of Fauquier County, is adopted by the Board of Supervisors as a part of the budget process; and

            WHEREAS, the Capital Improvements Program is the largest element of the Capital Fund and includes projects and estimated costs for a five year period; and

            WHEREAS, the Capital Improvements Program Committee has established policies for the prudent and efficient placement of public dollars, and has developed a means for scheduling capital expenditures in order for the County to maintain a sound financial position; and

            WHEREAS, it is the goal of the Capital Improvements Program Committee to facilitate community projects related to improving public safety and health, education, economic development, cultural and recreational facilities, and service to the public; and

WHEREAS, the considerable efforts of the Capital Improvements Program Committee serve to enhance the quality of life for citizens of Fauquier County; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors wishes to recognize the outstanding public service provided by the Capital Improvements Program Committee; now, therefore, be it

PROCLAIMED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 19th day of May 2003, That the members of the Fauquier County Capital Improvements Program Committee be, and are hereby, recognized for outstanding public service to the citizens of Fauquier County through their work; and, be it

PROCLAIMED FURTHER, That the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors does hereby express its appreciation to the members of the Capital Improvements Program Committee for a job well done.
