A Resolution Authorizing the Chairman of the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors to Accept a Deed of Real Property From the Vint Hill Economic Development Authority

Topic Description:

On the 16th of July 2001, the Board  of Supervisors authorized the acceptance of approximately 13.6 acres of land (Parcel 1) from the Vint Hill Economic Development Authority (EDA) for the Vint Hill Pool site.  The Economic Development Authority subsequently sought to convey an adjoining parcel and improvements, and determined that a proposed road would create an encroachment on the adjoining parcel.  In order to cure the encroachment, the EDA proposes to reconfigure the pool parcel and increase the size of the pool parcel by approximately one-half acre.  A copy of the proposed revised parcel is attached hereto.  The proposed adjustment would also eliminate the need to demolish the former Provost Marshall's Office, which would be conveyed to the County.  The EDA also agrees to pay the cost of relocating a ball field, which potentially would be impacted by the proposed road construction, but only in the event the construction occurs within the next eight years.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors:  

Adopt the attached resolution.
