WHEREAS,
the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors included the update of the
Catlett, Calverton and Midland Service Districts in its 2000 and 2001
Calendar Year Priority projects; and WHEREAS,
in 2002 and 2001, the Board of Supervisors requested by resolution that
the Virginia Department of Transportation suspend critical implementation
along Route 28, with the exception of spot/safety improvements from
Routes 15/29 to the Prince William County line, until the planning
process, which will re-examine roadway alternatives, is completed for the
five service districts through which the major primary highway passes; and WHEREAS,
the thirty-five member Citizen Planning Committee and Planning Commission
have completed work on the proposed Village Service District Plans,
conducted community information sessions, and the requisite public
hearing; and WHEREAS,
the Planning Commission recommended adoption of the referenced amendment
to the Comprehensive Plan at the conclusion of its 20 December 2001
meeting; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 20th day of May 2002, That it adopts the Catlett, Calverton and Midland Village Service District Amendment to the Comprehensive Plan, as recommended by the Planning Commission on December 20, 2001 and with the revisions identified herein as Attachment 2. |
