In March 2004, Fauquier
County's original Public-Private Education Facilities &
Infrastructure Act of 2002, as Amended (PPEA) Policy was
adopted by the Board of Supervisors. Virginia legislature
adopted changes to the Public Private Education Facilities
and Infrastructure Act in their 2004, 2005, and 2006
sessions; the revisions to the Fauquier County PPEA Policy
reflect those changes. Changes include the introduction of
the Interim Agreement, requirement of timelines and an
accelerated process if needed, rephrasing of use of the word
"policy" to "guidelines," refined definition of eligible
projects, and revisions to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
guidelines in reference to PPEA proposals. It should be
noted that these revisions are on the School Board's June
agenda for consideration, and have been reviewed by both
County and School Board Attorneys and approved through the
Finance Committee.
