Topic Description:
This is a request
by Andrew and Elizabeth Stone to add approximately 28.14 acres to
the Orlean/Hume Agricultural and Forestal District, which will
expire on
January 20, 2005
.
The Planning
Commission considered the request on
April 24, 2003
.
No one spoke in favor or in opposition of the request.
The
Planning Commission voted (5-0) to forward the request to the
Board of Supervisors with a recommendation of approval.
Additional background is provided in the attached staff
report.

Action of the Board of Supervisors:

|
Hold
a public hearing and take action as deemed appropriate.
Should the Board move to approve this request, an Ordinance
is included.

Impacts Analysis:

The Code of
Virginia
Article 15.2 A., Effects
of districts, states that “land lying within a district and used
in agricultural or forestal production shall automatically qualify
for an agricultural and forestal use-value pursuant to Article 4
of Chapter 32 of Title 58.1 if the requirements for such
assessment contained therein are satisfied.”
This property is currently in
land use taxation.
