FORESTAL DISTRICT

This
is a request by Audrey Ashby to add approximately 22.5 acres to
the Marshall/Warrenton Agricultural and Forestal District, which
will expire on January 20, 2005.
The
Planning Commission considered the request on April 25, 2002.
No one spoke in favor of, or in opposition to,
the request.
The Planning Commission voted (5-0) to
forward the request to the Board of Supervisors with a
recommendation of approval. Additional
background is provided in the attached staff report.

Action of the Board of Supervisors:

|
Hold
a public hearing and take action as deemed appropriate.
Should the Board move to approve this request, a proposed
Ordinance is attached.

Impacts Analysis:

The Code of Virginia Article 15.2-4312 Effects of Districts –
A. This section states “land lying within a district and used in
agricultural or forestal production shall automatically qualify
for an agricultural and forestal use-value pursuant to Article 4
of Chapter 32 of Title 58.1 if the requirements for such
assessment contained therein are satisfied.”
This property is currently in land use
taxation.
