Topic   A Resolution to Award a Bid for the Construction of the Bealeton Branch Library 

The Library Board has been working with the architectural firm, the Lukemine Partnership, and staff for the past year to prepare plans for the Bealeton Library.  The Board of Supervisors has included the project in the CIP and authorized lease financing for the construction of the project. 

Bids were opened on June 6, 2002. _Eleven bids were received, with the apparent low bid submitted by Taft Construction in the amount of $1,379,000.00.  The architect and building committee are in process of reviewing the bid. 

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors 

Consider adoption of attached resolution. 

Financial Impacts Analysis 

The bids are within the project budget for construction of the Bealeton Branch Library.  Financing for the project has been previously authorized and competitive bids for financing will be opened on June 10, 2002.
