Topic:  A Resolution to Refer to the Fauquier County Planning Commission a Zoning Ordinance Text Amendment to Section 5-205.5 (Additional Standards for Auto Repair Garages)

The Zoning Ordinance currently allows auto repair garages under Category 2 (Residential Business) with special permit approval from the Fauquier County Board of Zoning Appeals. The additional standards for this use limit the number of vehicles on site for repair or maintenance to a maximum of four (4). This text amendment would increase the maximum number of vehicles from four (4) vehicles to six (6) vehicles.  All work and any vehicles in excess of two (2) now are to be located in a fully screened area and may not be located in any required yard. Those requirements would not change.  No site plan is required for this use. 

This amendment would allow increase the maximum of number of vehicles for repair or maintenance permitted on site to six (6) vehicles at any time.  The screening and other requirements would remain unchanged.  A resolution for referral to the Planning Commission, and a proposed ordinance are attached.

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.
