Topic: 

A Resolution to Authorize the County Administrator to Execute a Surety Bond Release to the Hanover Insurance Company

Topic Description:

On December 17, 2001, Fauquier County executed a Cable System Franchise Agreement with Adelphia Cable Communications.  Section 11.2 of the Agreement provides that Adelphia must deposit and maintain a cash surety bond in the amount of $100,000 as described in Section 6-16 of the Code of Fauquier County.  Adelphia’s current bond was issued by Hanover Insurance Company.  Adelphia wishes to replace the franchise bond currently on file with a bond issued by Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America.  This resolution authorizes the County Administrator to execute a Surety Bond Release to the Hanover Insurance Company.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.
