A PROCLAMATION TO RECOGNIZE WILSON FARMS MEAT CO., INC., ERNEST AND INGE HOENIGMANN AND MAYA POLLOCK FOR OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF FAUQUIER COUNTY UPON THE OCCASION OF THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THEIR OWNERSHIP AND OPERATION OF
WILSON FARMS MEAT CO., INC.
WHEREAS, in 1952, Ernest and Inge Hoenigmann immigrated with their three children, one of whom is Maya Pollock, to the Commonwealth of Virginia from the country of Slovenia, to escape persecution from the Communist party and to gain political and personal freedom; and
WHEREAS, in June 1954, Ernest and Inge Hoenigmann purchased the business Wilson Farms Meat Co., Inc. from the Wilson family in Catlett, Virginia; and
WHEREAS, since June 1954, Ernest and Inge Hoenigmann have owned and operated Wilson Farms Meat Co., Inc. in the same building and location in Catlett, Virginia; and
WHEREAS, since 1989, Maya Pollock, daughter of Ernest and Inge Hoenigmann, has been part of the family business, helping to develop a highly successful wholesale and retail meat company that specializes in production of international sausages, cheeses, specialty meats and other unique products; and
WHEREAS, Wilson Farms Meat Co., Inc., has developed and maintained a very wide regular client base that ranges as far as Florida and New York; and
WHEREAS, Maya Pollock intends to continue to operate Wilson Farms Meat Co., Inc., for the foreseeable future; now, therefore, be it
PROCLAIMED by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors this 21st day of June 2004, That Wilson Farms Meat Co., Inc., Ernest and Inge Hoenigmann and Maya Pollock be, and are hereby, recognized and commended for outstanding and continuing service to the citizens of Fauquier County by continuing to operate their family business in Fauquier County; and, be it
PROCLAIMED FURTHER, That the Board of Supervisors does hereby extend best wishes to Wilson Farms Meat Co., Inc., Ernest and Inge Hoenigmann and Maya Pollock in all future endeavors.
