Next month, the Department of Community Development will
include a resolution for Board of Supervisors consideration
that will request VDOT to accept all Woods at Warrenton
streets into the Secondary System of State Highways.
However, one task needs to be completed before that action
can occur.
The subdivision has an asphalt trail (+ 4 feet in
width) that was constructed within the right-of-way on the
south side of Swift Crossing Drive due to a stream
crossing. The trail was intended to be maintained by the
HOA, and VDOT gave its approval for that trail location due
to the existing stream and topographical conditions. Before
the street acceptance process can conclude, VDOT requires
the County and the Woods at Warrenton Home Owners
Association to execute a maintenance agreement assuring the
perpetual maintenance of that facility.
The attached agreement has been executed by the Woods at
Warrenton HOA and obligates itself as the County’s agent in
implementing future repairs and improvements to the asphalt
trail as allowed or required by the VDOT issued permit.
Refer to the attachment for the more detailed terms of the
agreement. The final step needs the County’s signature. |
