A Work Session to Review the Proposed Development of the Public Safety Training Facility

Topic Description:

As part of the FY 2008 Budget, the funding source for this project and for upgrades to the public safety radio system was identified as debt financing.  During the adoption of the FY 2009 budget it was proposed that these projects be cash funded.

The staff has worked to develop a means of implementing improvements in phases with the goal to construct the primary training facilities this fiscal year so that training can be conducted.  The first step in this process will be to seek a Special Exception permit for the facility.  Staff will provide an update on this work and the board will discuss the timing for project implementation.  See attachments.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors:

Conduct a work session.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

There is no financial impact arising from this work session.  If the Board of Supervisors determines to continue work on this project, a budget resolution to provide funding for the project will need the approval of the Board.
