Topic:  A RESOLUTION TO INCREASE THE FY 2003 CONTRIBUTION TO THE AFRO-AMERICAN HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION (AAHA) OF FAUQUIER COUNTY

Topic Description:

The AAHA requested $10,000 from Fauquier County to help support its move to a larger office facility.  The specific use of these funds is shown in the attachment.  For FY 2003, the AAHA will receive a $1,000 contribution from Fauquier County. 

The Finance Committee reviewed this request at its June 26, 2002 meeting.  After a brief discussion, it directed the request be forwarded to the full Board of Supervisors for consideration with a recommendation to fund $5,000.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Adopt the attached resolution.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

Funding would be from the Contingency Reserve.
