Topic:
A
Resolution to
Continue the Frytown Water Project
|
|
Topic Description:
|
|
The
Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution on June 18, 2001 to
continue water monitoring and the provision of filtering or
bottled water to a number of homes.
A subcommittee formed by the Public Safety Committee has
begun work to determine if there is a more permanent solution to
the problem. The
committee was chaired by Joe Winkelmann and involves a
neighborhood representative, staff and representatives from the
Health Department, Department
of Environmental Quality, and the Town of Warrenton.
Utilizing the initial appropriation, we are continuing to
monitor the wells at six residences, provide a filtration system
at three residences, and provide bottled water for three
residences. The
committee is considering the installation of new wells or
connection to a public water system as a long-term solution.
Additional time is required to develop this long-term plan.
