Topic: 

Discussion of the Patton Harris Rust and Associates Change Orders for the Northern Sports Field Area Park

Topic Description:

The project's engineering firm, Patton Harris Rust & Associates, has submitted a Change Order request in excess of the amount that can be handled by the County's Procurement office.  The Change Order is needed for additional work required beyond the original contract scope due to revisions to site plan.  The Change Order also includes additional work beyond the contract amount due to the relocation of the Northern Sports Field Complex pool to the Marshall Community Center site.  The amount of the Change Order regarding the Northern Sports Field site is $28,500.  The amount pertaining to pool construction at the Marshall Community Center site is $61,800.  A copy of the contract addendum is attached for reference.  Not all of the task change orders associated with the Marshall Community Center pool project are included in this request for approval.  Contract Items 15-17 are omitted  since these are still under review and negotiation. The total amount of requested Change Order approvals is $90,300.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Hold a work session.

Financial Impacts Analysis:

The total amount of the Change Order directly associated with the Northern Sports Field Complex (NSFC) site will be absorbed within the project budget for that project.  Additionally, all of the task orders included in the request for approval for the Marshall Community Center pool site are anticipated for inclusion in the project budget established for pool construction.
