Topic:              A Resolution Authorizing the Addition of a Network Administrator Position  

Topic Description:

The Personnel Committee has endorsed the addition of a Network Administrator position for the Department of Information Technology.  The network system is critical to the operation of County workflow.  Accordingly, for backup and other systemic network purposes, the existence of more than one Network Administrator position is imperative.  The additional position will also serve to reduce the County’s dependence on outside contractors to fulfill network requirements.                 

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors:

Consider adoption of the attached resolution.

Fiscal Impact:

The requested position will be funded out of the Information Technology FY04 adopted budget by reducing the dependency on outside contractors and temporary labor to perform network administration responsibilities.
