Community Services Board Feasibility Analysis

Topic Description:

Some members of the Board of Supervisors have expressed interest in a feasibility study of Fauquier County establishing its own Community Services Board (CSB) to directly and independently provide the services currently provided by the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board (RRCSB), of which Fauquier is a member.     

If desired by the Board, it is proposed that a committee be established to conduct this study and present its findings to the Board of Supervisors at a future work session.   Staff would work with interested members of the Board of Supervisors and County Administration in developing the proposed charge and membership of the study team, based upon the specific skills, experiences and background required to complete the task, and present this information at the next Board meeting for approval.  

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors: 

Designate member(s) of the Board of Supervisors and County Administration to work with staff to develop the proposed charge and membership of a CSB study team, and present the proposal to the Board in a work session in August 2003 for approval and further direction.
