Topic:

A Resolution to Draft a Zoning Ordinance and County Code Text Amendments Regarding Public Water for Industrially and Commercially Zoned Lands in Marshall Magisterial District

Topic Description:

Pursuant to concerns raised at the Board’s June work session, Chairman Atherton directed that the proposed Ordinance be re-drafted to limit its affect to only industrially and commercially zoned lands in the Marshall Magisterial District.  Based upon that direction the proposed amendments to the Fauquier County Zoning Ordinance and County Code would:

·        require all owners of industrially and commercially zoned lands in the Marshall Service District to hook onto public water unless a special exception relieving the landowner of that responsibility is issued by the Board of Supervisors;

·        restructure certain sections of the Zoning Ordinance to bring them together into Article 7; and

·        change outdated references to Title 15.1 of the Code of Virginia;

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors:

Receive briefing on proposed text amendments to the County's Zoning Ordinance and Code.
