A Work Session on a Resolution Initiating a Proposed Amendment to Article 4 of the Fauquier Zoning Ordinance to Add Part 9 Entitled “Watershed Management and Protection Area Overlay District” and Referring Said Amendment to the Planning Commission for its Review, Comment and Recommendation

Topic Description:

The proposed Ordinance, if adopted, would add Part 9 to Article 4 of the Fauquier County Zoning Ordinance permitting the establishment of overlay districts to protect watersheds, which now or may in the future supply reservoirs used as public water systems in Fauquier County.  The resolution initiates the proposed amendment and refers the proposed Ordinance to the Planning Commission for its review, comment and recommendation.  The resolution also directs the County Administrator to initiate a study proposed to identify the watersheds needing protection.

Requested Action of the Board of Supervisors:

Hold a work session and receive staff briefing on a resolution initiating a proposed amendment to Article 4 of the Fauquier Zoning Ordinance to add Part 9 entitled “Watershed Management and Protection Area Overlay District” and referring said amendment to the Planning Commission for its review, comment and recommendation.
