The Personnel Committee has
endorsed the reclassification of the Network Analyst III
position to a Network Supervisor Position.
The current Network Analyst
III position has been performing the duties of a Network
Supervisor. IT’s use of outside consultants for network
support has reduced significantly since hiring the
incumbent. For example, when IT implemented VoIP for the
Sheriff’s Office (prior to hiring the current Network
Analyst III), $30,000 was expended for professional services
as the department did not have the technical expertise to
complete this project. When implementing the same system at
the AJC Building, IT’s expenditure for professional services
was less than $1,000.
The current Network Analyst
III has assumed a lead role, working at a supervisor level
and providing project management, successfully completing
several system implementations.
The network system is critical to all County operations.
Accordingly, for maintenance, backup, upgrades, and other
systemic network requirements, the existence of more than
one Network Administrator position is imperative. The
additional position will further reduce the County’s
dependence on outside contractors to fulfill network
operating requirements.
